Taxi Driver - Title Sequence
AGDA Distinction Award – Digital, 2020

Design and redevelopment of the opening title sequence for the 1976 American psychological-drama Taxi Driver, directed by Martin Scorsese.
The overall design reflects the morally and financially broken New York City post-Vietnam war during the mid 1970’s. The imagery places viewers in Travis Bickle’s perspective, portraying the raw NYC streets with snippets of his personal hand written diary entries. Bickle is disgusted by the sleaze, corruption, dysfunction and prostitution he is constantly exposed to as a night shift taxi driver. This opening title sequence provides viewers with a foundation of imagery depicting the factors that lead to Bickle’s mental deterioration.
