AGDA Merit Award – Digital, 2020
A hypothetical collaborative project working with RMIT University and the City of Melbourne. HERE seeks to provide the passer-by with a sense of where creative ideas have been born and cultivated throughout the Melbourne CBD. This is achieved through the placement of markers to highlight the locations where these ideas and inspiration took place. Ideas include where authors have penned their books, theatre playwrights had observed characters, painters and sculptors have captured scenes, significant designers have had their creative influence etc.
The overall design of HERE, spanning typography, wayfinding and user experience was developed to portray Melbourne as a contemporary hub for creative ideas, inspired by the city itself. This was achieved by incorporating the Melbourne CBD's grid structure and hidden laneways into the logotype, typography and signage.
